Planning Consent Resolution Granted for London Land Group’s One Westmoreland in Bromley
Bromley Council’s Development Control Committee has resolved to grant planning consent for London Land Group’s One Westmoreland development, designed in collaboration with Curl La Tourelle Head and Studio Woodroffe Papa. The decision is subject to the completion of a legal agreement and the GLA Stage 2 process.
Occupying a prominent brownfield site at the southern end of Bromley High Street, One Westmoreland will transform a key town centre gateway just a short walk from Bromley South Station.
The design has advanced following a close and constructive dialogue with Bromley’s planning officers and the Greater London Authority. The scheme brings forward a carefully considered mix of uses including workspace, affordable homes, later living and open, accessible public areas that support a vibrant community.
The mixed-use development will deliver:
- 138 build-to-rent homes, including 31 homes designed for later living
- 11,500 sq ft of Grade A commercial space, including flexible workspace and a café
- A publicly accessible landscaped plaza and resident garden, forming the green heart of the scheme
Arranged as a family of three buildings, the architecture balances contemporary design with sensitivity to context. The landscape strategy frames the buildings with biodiversity-led planting and high-quality public realm.
Sustainability is embedded throughout, with measures including ambient loop air-source heat pumps, photovoltaic panels, up to 1,077 sqm of living roofs, 67 new trees, native planting, and various biodiverse habitats.
One Westmoreland will be the first scheme delivered through London Land Group’s Total Concept platform - an industrialised, knowledge-based construction methodology. Developed with framework partners such as Samsung SmartThings Pro and ABB, the platform integrates sustainable technologies and precision engineering to set new standards in residential and mixed-use development. This reflects London Land Group’s mission to create design-led, sustainable and technology-enabled communities that foster a profound sense of belonging.
Mario Luca Balducci, CEO at London Land Group, said:
“One Westmoreland represents an important step for London Land Group. The planning resolution is testament to the quality of the design, developed in close collaboration with our architectural partners and the local authority, and its ability to complement and enhance the character of its surroundings. It also demonstrates how our Total Concept platform can deliver sustainable, high-quality homes and workplaces that support vibrant communities and a strong sense of place.”
